The Canberra Moon Festival 2025 proudly presents two initiatives that celebrate youth creativity and cultural connection

🌕 Light Up the World
A signature festival highlight featuring spectacular lantern installations that illuminate City Walk, symbolising culture, family, reunion, harmony, and harvest. This program brings communities together under one shared light, celebrating traditions in a way that belongs uniquely to Canberra.
 

🎨 Youth Artists Awards
Students from Canberra High School, Florey Primary School, Mawson Primary School, St John Paul II College, and St Thomas Aquinas Primary School have created inspiring 2D and 3D artworks reflecting this year’s theme. The community is invited to vote for their favourite pieces during the festival.
Voting closes at 12:00 pm, Sunday 7 September, with the Awards Ceremony at 2:15 pm on stage @ City Walk.
